“A charm a single charm is doubtful. If the red is rose and there is a gate surrounding it, if inside is let in and there places change then certainly something is upright. It is earnest.” (Stein, Gertrude 1914 Tender Buttons)
The project is about a Woman’s Rite of Passage: An American lady leaves for Paris in order to discover her true self. Dominant in character, and curious by nature, she embraces her masculine side. The breakthrough is a moment of glory and peace. Inspired by American novelists G.Stein, R. Brooks, both of who moved to Paris, the collection follows this journey – playing on the colours of both flags and referencing easy-fitting unisex cuts, devoid of classic Western body shaping, the clothes drape effortlessly. Each garment is finished to perfection – inside and out silks fondle the body. This collection is about the pleasure of wearing clothes – and this season’s Woman is relaxed and sensual.
